Life is full of new events and situations. Since switching institutes, this semester has been different for me from the beginning. A few months back, I cleared my entry test and was admitted to grade seven in a new institution. I was mature enough, and it was time to learn something new and prepare for the next level.

Here, I can’t put those feelings into words. At the beginning of this term, I was unfamiliar with the new environment, which made it tough for me to understand. I was a little nervous thinking about new teachers and classmates’ behaviour. Many questions were popping into my mind, such as: Will classmates accept me as a newbie? If someone bullies me in the class or on school premises, how will I handle it? Will I adjust in this new place, or will my classmates accept me as a good friend? My senses were incapable of answering these questions.

Regardless, at the moment, I remembered my friends from my previous school who always encouraged me to persist in every situation without losing hope. With those inspirational memories, I pushed myself to think positively, and I was amazed; all my ambiguities disappeared when I found the school environment calm, free of discrimination, and tolerant of bullying.

Similarly, classmates’ attitude was impressive to me; they welcomed me warmly in class and invited me to join their group of friends. This cooperation made me feel quite relaxed. As I recall, it was my first day of school; all teachers were punctual and arrived in the classroom on time. The teachers’ interactions with students were engaging; I enjoyed each one’s lesson because of their distinct teaching styles. They utilised technology and interactive exercises to educate students, incorporating educational applications and online tests that made learning both engaging and applicable. It inspired me to cultivate future-oriented abilities such as critical thinking and active engagement. I really admire them and will never forget.

This term, we had a comprehensive syllabus, yet the school allowed us to choose some subjects ourselves. Some subjects were compulsory for all, and a few were optional. Despite my desire to excel in science and math, I was most curious about history since I was passionate about learning about the rich culture and legacy of our forefathers. We had a lot of homework and tests during this term, particularly in maths, because its syllabus was longer than the other subjects. But I performed well across all subjects.

I will never forget my first day of school, when we visited the library to read books in English class. The instructor then provided us with a creative writing worksheet, which I found fascinating. She assigned us several topics for group discussion. I was a little confused about the work; however, my classmates helped me solve it. Although I made many mistakes, the teacher highlighted them and explained how to avoid these errors in the future. She also arranged extra lessons and suggested educational applications and online tests for me to practice more at home. I took her advice seriously, as I was enthusiastic about online learning, and soon the extra reading and writing practice improved my language proficiency.

Undoubtedly, this term taught us how to organise our personal lives for today and the future. For instance, the most valuable lessons were learning to prioritise, collaborate with classmates in groups, and be ready to help them when needed. At the same time, meeting deadlines, preparing for tests, and completing homework alongside everyday lessons and revision trained me in self-discipline and time management in daily life.

A familiar phrase, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, focuses on the significance of active participation in extracurricular activities with studies. I therefore enrolled in swimming and karate classes through the school’s sports club. I learnt various self-defence techniques in karate and was selected to participate in the annual inter-school sports competition. In a swimming competition, I received a trophy as a reward. On the weekends, I occasionally played football for a local club. These sports activities strengthened my leadership, collaboration, and creative skills; on the other hand, they relieved the strain of my studies and allowed me to lead a more balanced life.

To sum up, this term has been remarkable. My life underwent significant adjustments as a result of the school’s encouraging atmosphere. I developed sincere relationships with new friends and enjoyed hanging out with them. Besides, my communication abilities improved thanks to the teachers’ creative instructional strategies. School events and teamwork in class enabled me to gain a better understanding of others’ perspectives and ways of dealing with life obstacles. I am pleased to be a part of this school as the year progresses, and eagerly await the next session. Now, I am ready to seize new opportunities and tackle life’s complex challenges.

I believe that the experience I gained here has provided me with valuable knowledge and social skills which will be beneficial in my future life. Overall, the term has been quite successful!.
