Tony’s Travel

Train - Tony's Travel
Tony’s Travel

There were three ways in which Tony could travel to school: by bus, by steam train or on the underground railway. Each of these ways held something special. The bus journey was interesting because one passed shops and markets, human beings, traffic lights, other buses and cars. The steam train was exciting because one could run up and down the corridor if the guard weren’t on the prowl, as he usually was, knowing what a naughty cargo he was carrying.

The underground train was the quickest. Tony used this one if he had something important to do when he reached school-something that had to be done, unpleasant though it might be, such as finishing last night’s homework. The fare to Good-Hampton was the same whichever way he travelled.
